WALT use descriptive language to add detail

World War I began in 1914. What was life like back then?

Task 1: Watch the 4 video clips:

What was home life like in 1914?	A Typical Day in 1914	What entertainment was there in 1914?	What toys were there in 1914?

Task 2: Brainstorm things about what life might look like for a child back
in 1914. How is it different to today?

Coal used to light fires	Some homes had servants
Would really stink and smell	They would sometimes not get paid enongh and maybe take a strike.
That would be bad because the smell is really bad for children
It would smell like smokes in the house
It might be cold in the house even though the fire is still going and you have a blanket on.
It might cause a fire in the house
It can stain the house the black
